Update of my Vitry Frères case :

Changed the all-metal razor (that was previously in) for a Thinet, the enterprise that bought Vitry Frères in the late 1800.

I recently acquired this set. They are all in remarkable condition, ivory scales and original finish. None of them show any signs of use. I now nothing about the manufacture except for the obvious made in Sheffield. No England stamp so they likely predate 1890. They are very nice. My wife is a little annoyed as I had promised to reduce my numbers. I think it is very clear that I need to sell something else as these appear to be a fairly remarkable find.

My razor for the shaving of Christmas Day:
french, 6/8" without tail, epoch Restauration (c.1814-30) rescaled in blonde tortoiseshell -thick 1,2mm to preserve his stunning transparency- (black horn in origin).
Sweet on the skin as all the ancient steels :angel:

Beautiful blade, interesting to see a razor like this posted, I've been looking for a razor exactly like that for awhile now.....fantastic restoration, and "ancient steel" is a great description, I can bet it is sweet on the face. Well done!:)Quote:
