Here's a Fricot Gran Filo that I saw on Ebay Spain. It measures 24.9 mm. It looks really similar to a Doble Temple:

Here's an Henckels 14 Guillermo Hoppe full hollow 7/8 that's just come in for honing not mine another forum member and friend Huw, but I might give the razor a whirl on Sunday you could say perks of the job. :-)

@ celticcrusader: Thanks for sharing those pictures, it's a beauty!
Are you sure it's half hollow? This question I ask as I don't know any Hoppe 14's that are other than bellied hollow. Same goes for the Henckels 14's.
In both pictures I even imagine seeing a reflection of the "belly"?
Please tell us what your experience is after you gave it a try and how a Hoppe 14 compares with other razors?
Kindest regards, Jazor
Having gone back taken a few photo's I can say you are right they are both full hollows I'll leave you with photo's of the grind plus the razors.

@ celticcrusader: amazing... With the 14's I have I can slide my index and thumb from spine to edge and I feel the belly.
Good picture by the way: could you post another one with an example where a bellied profile is visible?
Never a dull day without learning something for me I guess.
Kindest regards, Jazor
OK I've put a few photo's up in the above post for you hope they are OK.

Miha,
Thanks for sharing. That's a nice group of blades there. That Palmera looks impressive!
I've never heard of a Field 14. Can you tell us a little more about it?
hey Bordee: the truth is I don't have much information about Field, it is in good shape and has a very slight frawn, I like the scales a lot, they seem to be ok. i am adding another picture of if
the Palmera is bigger than the other, the scales will probably have to be replaced, pins are very loose, and a scale has a crack by the pivot pin, some sort of light, not so dense wood I'd say, the blade is almost new..
Field..

Miha,
Thanks for the pic of the Field 14 with the box. By the look of the box, with the Spanish "Registrada", it seems that the Field brand was another one of those internal Spanish market #14 razors. One other question for you: on the opposite side of the shank, is there any writing that says: "Fabricacion Espanola / Made in Spain / Made In Germany"? If there is no country mentioned on the other side, that would indicate that the razor was made in Spain and only distributed in Spain. If a Spanish manufacturer was exporting this razor, they would have to put "Fabricacion Espanola / Made in Spain" on it.
hey thee...
it actually says "GARANTIDA A REGISTRADA".. the pics of the other side are below

great info, tahnks wrl... i thought this one is from the 60s or so... so this one is pre 1951 :)
@ mina and Heespharm: thanks for sharing.
Nice pictures!
Kindest regards, Jazor
The Last 14 i got, a Carl Rader in about 15/16" of size, it was a bit bigger when i got it but as you can see at the last Pic, it was a saw and i had to work a bit :-)
Its a very nice shaver, similar to a Filarmonica Doble Temple, hard temepered with a rigid blade and a Razor that makes fun.

@ Rockabillyhelge: thanks for sharing. Cool logo! That edge surely took some work!
Kindest regards, Jazor
Thanks Jazor :-)
Yes, it was kind of work and a risky bid on Ebay when i bought it, only saw the saw like Edge but was very much afraid that i was cracked too, but i had luck, no cracks only the nicks.
Sharpening took some time because i had to work in a soft way to prevent cracks, but the Naniwa 800 did its work good :-)
Nice razor! How wide is the blade?
Its a bit less than 15/16" in Size, about 2,3cm.
Guess this razor should go here, got this for $75.00, a great deal, and looking forward to finally trying the mythical Palmera #14:

Well I tell you pixel, it better, cause if it doesn't, I'm sending it to you, along with a bottle of Maple Syrup and a Toque!
It's on it's way to Valery at the Gentleman's Den to make sure the pins are tight, it gets a cleaning and a fresh honing...looking forward to trying it.
When I was having coffee with Valery, mentioned to him about the Palmera being one of the few "belied" grinds...I know what it is, never seen one, Valery was very interested to check it out.
Why are these razors so hard to find, so rare?
@zozo: Yes, the Size is after Restauration, before it was a bit less than 8/8".
@ Rockabillyhelge: how does the shaving sensation compare to other 14's that didn't have a saw edge?
Kindest regards, Jazor
@Jazor: Hope that there is no misunderstandig, the Saw-like Edge was the condition when it arrived, now the edge is just like it has to be, straight and continous. The Character while shaving is similar to a Doble Temple Fili but the blade isnt so rig like it is with the Fili. The Rader shaves soundfull and with a nice backbone, a typical No.14 Allrounder :-)
Could any of you tell me about the maker/origin of this blade? It's a beauty, no doubt! The tang reads, Königin 14.
Attachment 184475Attachment 184476
You might want to follow this thread which is currently debating the controversial origins of the #14 blade.
The shape of the blade looks strikingly similar to the Imperial and Especial # 14 razors under the Jose Monserrat Pou brand.

@ wyobarbershop: thanks for sharing. It's a beauty indeed.
What's your opinion on the originality of the scales?
It's another # 14 brand I never heard of and a nice addition to our thread!
Kindest regards, Jazor
Nice, Josh. I don't see the 14 on the tang, but do in the blade. Nice one!
Would not get into that thread recommended above. A bloody mess, IMO.
Hone it up! Enjoy! ;)
@ wyobarbershop: Königin is the german word for Queen, the Tang Mark looks as it is etched or something similar, speaks for a pasr WW2 Razor alltogether with the Scales that seem original. Are there any other Marks on the Tang or only the Crown and the Königin?
Thank you for your kind words.
I do believe the scales to be original and there are no other markings on the tang. Here's a pic that shows the "14" a little better. It's definitely etched and hard to see.

I have wondered about the #14 on the tang... still don't know what it means. :)

Awesome! Can't wait to hear who knows what.?!
@ Aldwyn: what a nice razor!
This is an example of a 14 that does not look like the usual profile.
Thanks for sharing.
Kindest regards, Jazor
Thanks, guys!
Being a Western Kamisori, it was definitely cut differently. And due to some restoration work to fix the heel, it has a different profile then the rest of the King Pelicans #14s in this thread.
Still gotta wonder about that 14, though!
Still impressive.
When I got it, I shaved with nothing but for a couple of weeks! :)
