Hi all. At an antique shop right now, looking at a union cuttlery expert 400 straight. Looks to be in good shape. No nicks in the blade. They want $35. Anyone know much about these blades?
This is not the actual razor, but it looks identical.

If I was standing next to you and you hesitated it would be walking out the door with me right now. Looks good and a good price, but, in an antique shop offer less and see what happens.

Sorry guys. That pic is of one I found on eBay selling for 129.99. The antique shop wouldn't let me take pictures. That pic was just showing the model I was looking at. It's pretty close to the same shape. I'll post some pics when I get home... Got it for $30.

I just saw that the pic was one like it! Showing another razor is not really the best way to get advise on a completely different one, IMO. If you are new to razors, you might not see things which could make a huge difference. For your sake, I hope it is close in condition!Quote:

Still worth $30?
Well, it looks pretty good! I am guilty of not reading things sometimes. I missed that 4th line! Union Cutlery started out in Georgia and then moved to Olean, which was quite a cutlery-making hub back in the day. Very good stuff! the tang bluing is almost gone and needs a cleaning/ polish. The blade looks great. It should hone up easy and make you a fine shaver. We are not supposed to be evaluating on the open forum, but I would say you did quite well. Enjoy!
