Hello to all!

They are either Tortoise or Faux Tortoise but from that pic I have no idea which, just don't have enough clues... There are several ways to test them, probably the easiest is just to rub them vigorously with a rough cotton cloth and see if you get a slight camphor smell, if so they are Celluloid. If not then on to the next tests :(
Thanks. I should have specifically asked about the style or shape. I agree with you that they are celluloid. I do know that they are from the 20-30's period because of the "tree" logo in the mother of pearl. To me, this makes it highly unlikely that they are real tortoise.
What I've never seen though is the bamboo-like "joints" that these scales have. Very intriguing to me.
Thanks for responding!
Cheers
There're several razors with bamboo celluloid scales in the Boker catalog.
I couldn't find the same razor, but similar.

Yeah pikadon this is it. the boker 1056 has the black scales with the lady in it.
Thanks BB. Nice to have some history. Yours is beautiful.
Next question Is,How do you test for tortoise? of all the naturals this seems to be the most difficult.
