Finally got it - 7/8's filed back, 1/4 hollow, snakewood scales, MOP spacer and s/s screws in place of pins. My crappy photography doesnt do this razor justice - cant wait to shave with it tonight.

That's a serious piece of steel.
Stunning razor. I'd say it was worth the wait.

God I love his razors.
Working on the minister for war and finance at the moment - may take a while but I think I can win her over:w
I have never seen his razors, does he have a website or a catalog.
Best part was it only took a couple of weeks from the time I ordered to the time I took delivery - I suspect this will change as more of his work gets out. He doesnt have a website, but you can see several examples of his work here http://www.straightedgerazors.com/in...on_view&idev=7
I couldn't find any prices on these. What did the one you got cost??
I'm waiting to see one with a little more rounded front and where the shoulder doesn't hit the hone for such a steep bevel in a 7/8 and then I'm landing one as well. All the ones I've seen have been beautiful work. Taking notes Robert??
Thanks,
Lynn
Lynn,
The razor was $400. This price included a choice of about 6-8 different woods (probably more, thats just what he had in the shades I wanted). I'm sure he can make the blade however you like it.
That seems to be the case. IIRC one of his first successful razors (which he kept for himself) was a very clean little shoulderless swayback razor. He can do single or double hollows now in any thickness. He can do razors in a variety of steels, though there are tradeoffs between different steels and hardness and grinds.
Beautiful steel!
Congrats to both artisan and user!
Cheers
