UNOPENED WADE & BUTCHER

Hey guy's,
I don't know if you remember the unopened Wade & Butcher on ebay. well, I won it, and finally decided to open it. As you can see it is a beautiful 5/8 wedge!!!! :y
I stropped and shaved with this baby and I must tell you it was a nice shave!!!
To be the first to open a 100+ year old razor and then shave with it is beyond description!!! It required no initial honing!! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!:y

P.S. The striations on the bevel looked like they couldn't have been made by anything finer than a 4000 grit hone and it still shaved quite nice with only a stropping on plain leather!!!

I was bidding on that one but when it started to go crazy I backed off. You didn't get it cheap but it looks like you got your money's worth.

They *really* don't make razors like they used to.

Unfortunately this pretty much evaporated my willpower the next time one of these shows up on ebay.

I remember the box well. Not sure, but I think I gave an optimistic / positive opinion. I see I was right (if I did so). To open a quality vintage razor and be the first... This is great! I am glad for you!

Michael - the next one will probably have rust spots and stuff :eek: (just trying to boost your willpower)
