Nice work on both the blade and scales, Enjoy!
Those scales look great. How is the wood to work with?
I cut it and shaped it with my dremmel. It was $7.00 a square foot. Real easy to cut and shape.
I made a set with purple hart and inlayed opal. Unfortunately one side broke with the grain before I installed a blade. Too brittle. Glad you had better luck. Maybe I will try again some time.
I like working with purpleheart, but you have to be careful pinning as mentioned above. I personally like a hand rubbed tongue oil for most of my woods. You did good putting that razor back to work. Thanks for sharing...that old fellow should give you near a lifetime of shaves.
very nice, wait til the wood oxidizes a bit, it will take on a purple brownish color with a bit of black in it. It's gorgeous as it ages
That looks like a very good first attempt at restoration! Can't say mine looked as nice :w
Thanks guys. Appreciate all you good remarks and praise.
