As the title states I'm just passing time learning more about straight razor shaving so I have no real question base on a possible purchase right now.
On the SRP wiki, there are three shoulder styles listed: Shoulderless, single and double.
Now is there any notable difference on the feel or performance while shaving. I think I understand the structural benefit but feel free to explain more on that as well Thanks.
It is more about the final grind then the shoulder style, when it comes to the feel on the face...
Myself I love the look of Shoulderless and they way they hone regardless of what grind they are
For me, the main difference is that if shoulders are present, a bit more care is needed for positioning the razor on the strop on each stroke.
I prefer shoulderless, but that preference has nothing to do with how the things shave.
It is partly aesthetic because I tend to like the look of shoulderless blades, but also practical because of the things Glen and Unit mentioned: there's no shoulder to take into account when honing and stropping.
As for performance, a good shouldered blade will work just as well as a good shoulderless blade, and vice-versa.

Right on! I love my shoulderless razors. They are so simple to hone and strop and shave! My Dovo Bismarck and my similarly shaped Gold Dollar are my favorite razors to hone or shave with. Shoulders? Who needs them? The flowing curves of a shoulderless razor just feel so right in my hand, and they look dead cool. I might even get me another Bismarck one of these days. I love honing shoulder-less razors, they just feel good on the stones.
