That is just stunning. Out of interest, what is Mastro Livi's background? How did he come to make razors?
It is a very long family tradition. The Livis are known to be artisans in making blades, knives and guns since the beginning of the 1700s. Mastro Livi learned this art from his father Alfonso, who - among the many things - invented the two sided loom strop, the very same Mastro Livi still makes, as well as special tools for honing knives and razors.
If anyone is thinking of having a Mastro Livi made please I really suggest you take Antonello up on his very kind offer of helping to translate. His help during my stay was invaluable. It was also straight razor heaven to be able to chat with someone as passionate about our hobby as he is.
Also you'll help feed his MLRAD......lol.
