Was at a local antique shop earlier and came across a decent OBM A. Kastor and Bros straight with wooden box. Not sure why, but I decided to pass. They wanted $26 for it.

I probably would have. I like the box more than anything though.
I have lots of dirty razors that need work, but that box intrigues me.
In person and no shipping? I would of bought it.
With the box, very likely.

Probably not. I have more razors than I can shake a stick at and another round point from an obscure maker would add nothing to my collection/accumulation. The box does nothing for me.
Would have tried.to have lowered.it to 22.or so and if they didnt budge would have paid 26
I would have bought it. Wouldn't care much for the razor and would offer it up or perhaps modify it to my liking.
I would have haggled over the price, but would have paid full price in the end if I had to.
After restoring the razor I would strip and restore the box. It would be beautiful and well worth the price.
The razor looks ok, and the box is prety cool but it is damaged, originally the lid when closed had a little piece of wood that locked it in place by sliding it down on the cover cut out slot. Its a familiar design traditionnaly name a grease box/ tallow box.
would have bought it just for the box then glue soem leather on it for a travel strop & box with a bonus razor to play with

Having had quite a few Kastor Bros. razors go across the hones and the face I would have been on it like white on rice
I'd have bought it. I might be pretty new to straight razors, but that one doesn't look too far gone. Bit of spit and elbow grease I think you could get it to shine like a new penny at least.

Not a bargain but fair price, the box is the bonus. Cleaned it, honed it and shaved, if I liked it I would keep it, if not sell it and keep the box. Wait that's what I have said with all the razors and hones I have bought and haven't sold one yet! Double O
I probably would've jumped on it, but then again I got a bad case of RAD so...
I would have probably passed on it. Not that there's anything wrong with it but I've got lots and lots of razors that need attention of some sort so adding to the pile doesn't make a lot of sense.
The razor is doing nothing for me, but the box...I would have bargained for it. Done a quick clean up and hone on the blade then sold it to get the box for free!
I would have tried to haggle down the price, but I like the shape of the razor with the slight thumb notch, jimps, and round point. Plus Kastor is a reputable maker so no worry about poor quality.
Would I have? Oh yeah, in a second. In fact, you may want to get yourself back there and buy it already - you'll be kicking yourself in about a month if you don't (I would). If you're not convinced, go buy it anyway and send me a PM.
