If something is not obviously bad, like a large crack, break,,,always clean the razor first, then take a better look at it before you go pulling parts off it. From where I sit, those scales look perfectly fine, just need cleaning & polishing like Spendur said.

If you have a bed bath beyond they have them and you can get them on Eboy and I imagine Amazon too.
