AFAIK it's only sold through Classic. It's a really great razor; though the scales are plain to keep the cost down, the steel is absolutely outstanding.
Thanks for the fast reply. I'm caught between this, a new TI or a Prima Klang Dovo.
Yeah,
only available at Classic. It was somewhat of a collaboration between Ray, (rest in Peace) founder of ClassicShaving and a member here until the end, TI, and the group. Ray actually had to swallow a bit of the price of everything as I understand so we could even have these made. I doubt it will ever be available elsewhere except where purchased from another member.

A couple have been sold on Eboy so keep on the lookout, you never know.
Does ClassicShaving supply them shave ready by the way?
They do if you pay the extra for it, about $19.95 IIRC? You also have to pay a split order charge of about $4.50 as they have to send it to Lynn before it comes to you.
Ah, that's what I thought was the case. Seems like the easy solution is to do that, but may just be cheaper to send it to LX Emergency in Holland (with all due respect to Lynn).
Yes it could be, then again Classicshaving often quote the true value of the goods on the outside of the package so I've found their packages get intercepted by customs more frequently.
Lynn is more discrete, at least in my limited experience. So packages from him have (so far) avoided any undesired attention. ;)
If you want to do this you have to email Classicshaving after you place your order for the razor and honing, and explain you want it to go to Lynn before it gets sent to you. Lynn usually ships them direct after he's honed them, rather than sending them back to Classicshaving.
I've never used Alex's services but I hear he's good.
I actually ordered another one of these SRP razors yesterday as I wish I'd never sold my first one. I'm confident enough to hone it myself now, but I'm not at the stage I'd offer to do it for others at the moment. I'm prepared to risk scratching/overhoning my own razors but not other peoples - yet!
I've used Alex's services and would recommend him - good bloke and very reasonable pricing.
I can fully understand your point about customs though - I never thought about it this way though. In that case, sending it to Lynn is probably worth it. No doubt when my Nagura stone arrives, I should be in a position to hone one myself from scratch.
Would be interested to know how your order goes with Classicshaving, esp. as you are in the UK too. I've never bought anything from them before.
I've used them maybe 5 times in the past, and placed an order with them yesterday. They've always been pretty fast to ship, and items are well packed. Only issue really is if it gets held up by customs which can add a bit of extra delay to the delivery.
Their returns service is very good too. I had a TI which arrived with a cracked scale and they approved the return really fast, and refunded me as soon as they received it at their end.
Good bunch of people. :)
Well this is all very interesting: the TI is the other thing I've been considering :hmmm:, although I am going to try and get one from France when I'm over there. Failing that, I'm going to need to make a serious decision: TI or SRP razor from ClassicShaving!
Thanks for the advice re: the returns though.
The SRP razor's are unique. This was a limited edition run and each razor has a serial number.I believe that only 250 were made. I have three of them. One I use and two are for long term investment. It takes a wile to "dial them in" so I would strongley suggest that you have Lynn hone it for you. He has the most experience with the SRP razors of anyone on this forum.
Hope this helps,:)
Thanks! Very helpful indeed! :)
I have 2 of them, same idea as Randy, one is a "user" the other one is still in its original packaging.
BTW you did know the SRP razor is a TI, right?
I wonder, has anyone considered getting another forum razor going (or have I just missed the thread?) I know when the original SRP razor came out I believe Dovo and TI were both considered, with TI winning the popularity contest at the time. Now, I think Dovos have gained in popularity.
Either way, whichever you pick should treat you well, but if you can get the forum razor, that's something not everyone else can get.
Something to think about.

At $159 the SRP razor is only $10 more than a generic mass-produced (but still very nice) 6/8 TI like this one:

Considering it's a limited run, and the steel is a very good one, it's pretty good value and an easy choice IMO. Also, personally I prefer the discrete etching on the blade to the more gaudy "Loup et Bellier" badge on generic TI's.
Thanks, guys. It's looking like it will be the SRP special edition. I am looking for a wooden-handled, 6/8 TI (only ever used 5/8 and never owned a TI). Seems to fit the bill quite well and it also comes in a pretty cool leather case as well. It's a 'singing' razor as well so that makes it even more worthwhile. I will be adding it to my collection and will use it as well. No doubt it will be heading Lynn's way for honing. By the way, is this a Carbon steel one?
I just reconsidered and changed my order to have it sent via Lynn, he did a great job on the one I had before.
Don't forget when you order the SRP razor you need to quote your SRP username in the "Company" section of the order form, Classicshaving only sell these to SRP members.
Not 100% sure about the steel, I think it's 'silver steel' but I can't remember if that's carbon or SS. :hmmm:
If you're interested http://www.shaving-and-razor-shop.com/ has a cool video showing TI razors being made, you can download it here.

Thanks, steelfroge. I actually found that clip by accident earlier this week whilst looking at Belgian coticules. It's an awsome clip.
