Torrey and Sword

JR Torrey in gold with green scales. Little bit of hone wear, some wear on the gold, with some water spots. edge is not shave ready, will tape and coticule.

Sword 402 hollow ground, very little hone wear (perhaps NOS), gold in good shape. edge is still shaving sharp. took well to a little polish to knock down the corrosion.

Could any one help me date ether of these? id love some info on the torrey.

Torrey made razors in Worcester, Mass. from 1880 to 1963 and Torreys are considered one of the best American blades ever. I have 5 or 6 of them and I ain't complaining. They are good.

I agree the the Torrey statement. I have a couple and they're great shavers! I also live about 15 min from Worcester which makes it even cooler :)

How hard were your torrey's to hone, mine took about 2x the normal amount of strokes on my coticule to build up an edge.

did finally get it shaving through. but ya seems alot harder then my Solingen razors.

both are passing HHT after felt and bridal leather stropping.
