I see the advantage of a square corner for nipping off those one or two hairs here and there under the nose. I also see the enhancement ability to fillet onself. What say you?

Well, from my limited experience I would say you are right especially the fillet ability part. An unmuted square tip razor is one that you shave with using caution and always be aware of what the tip is doing and where it is. In other words you just plain can't afford to get sloppy/hasty while shaving with it. A round tip is just more forgiving if you get ham handed is all. A unmuted square tip will keep you honest.

What Bob said is very true. Since I maintain a mustache, regardless of what month it is, I like notch, French, and Spanish points best, but a square point will do. I have a few round points and I must admit they shave well but ....... the only downside to them is, unlike the aforementioned exotic points, they don't look cool. To me a round point looks like a butter knife or a spatula.

I have quite a few square points and don't generally get bitten but this thing is like a vampire.
So yeah, just go slow the first time you ever use one. And regardless, it will bite you one day.
I have matching scars thanks to a sqaure point F.W. Engels Special. The first one happened going WTG on my left cheek. The point sort of dug in where the cheek muscle and the 'hollow' of the cheek meet. I thought 'damn! I gotta be careful on the other side' About 2 min later...repeated on the other side :( So +1 to not being careless!

Do not confuse Sq. point from spike point,two diff. animals
