Default thiers issard grim razor legit?

hey guys, saw this and thought man that's a good looking razor, and love the whole "Grim" thing (my wife and I watching that show recently). but this is the only place I've seen it and doing some looking the website in the past wasn't on the up and up. Is this a real thiers issard razor or something else?

There is another company, American, that in trying to find if this was legit I see uses the name "grim" but I don't know anything about theirs either.

    Thanks all

May be. The same brand can also be found on stuff that looks like one of the poorly ground gold dollars. TI seem willing to slap any brand on any of their blades, so this is probably simply a marketing trick to increase the value of the $2 gold dollar by a couple of orders of magnitude by simply putting a different label on it, one shared with a $145 TI razor, because that's what this TI model goes for.

I doubt they intend to sell those in volume because they have the lowest profit margin from anything else they sell, though it's a pretty good margin as it is. My guess is that these razors would be much more difficult to receive even if they are not put out of stock and the orders go through. That store is about selling stuff at incredible markup.

But if they do it may be copyright infringement. It's more likely a reference to 'grim reaper'.

Well a play on the brothers grimm and grim reaper maybe. I am not sure you could copyright the names of real people, but I don't know.
Maybe they just missed the apostrophe : the blade's grim

Yeah, ok I will give you that one. I was more thinking along the lines of dead people, rather than someone trademarking/ copyrighting their name. Like john f Kennedy or tolstoy.
But you may well be right.

There is a long thread about these razors on a another site. The conclusion was that the blades with the grim logo stamped on the tang are not worth the money but the Thiers Issard version is actually a good deal. A few people bought them and they looked liked the real deal as far as quality and packaging goes. The other suggestion they offered is that you ask the seller not to hone the razor as the company does not have the best reputation at this. I can attest to this as I made the mistake about about buying a shave ready cheapo from them and this thing is worthless. In my own defense this is before I knew SRP existed.

As long as having an etch that is also associated with a much cheaper junky razor is worth $45 to you.
