Anyone know if anyone (besides custom makers) currently make heavier grind razors? Dovo, TI, Boker? Doesn't seem like it, but maybe they do limited runs or that type of thing?

During the Summer of 2008, there was a group buy on B&B for a limited edition of TI "Le Grelot" 6/8, round point, quarter-hollow razors (photos, here), made from some blade blanks that had been discovered and made available. Before then, or since, I haven't heard or read about any other "mass" production of a similarly ground (or heavier) straight razor.
While not a true wedge a TI with X thick grind, whatever that means, is available here 'Basic Black' range . It might be worth emailing for a better explanation of what exactly the grind is.

Yeah I do notice that not a lot of places list the grind. I presume they're probably full hollow unless otherwise stated.
Yea, that site also lists TI blades as full hollow in some other models so I would take it that since they are listing these as X thick they rae heavier grinds than full hollow.

These are 1/4 hollow: Art.Nr. 1049
Maybe check revisors website. They might sell wedges though they're not the easiest place to order from if you do find them there.
IIRC Wacker has a couple of Heavy Grinds I say that rather then "Wedge" :p
I believe you will find Hart razors are represented to be 1/4 hollow.
The tricky part is how we use the term "wedge" today. It seems to cover everything from half hollow, quarter hollow, near wedge and wedge http://straightrazorpalace.com/srpwi...ths_and_grinds.
In new production I am guessing the best you could do is half or quarter hollow grinds. I have some of those and they are nowhere near the couple of near wedges I have for being beefy. Hope to get a "true" wedge at some point. Just saying that it can get a bit confusing.
