Is Bloorp a real term? If not, it should be. Bloorping sounds better than cellrot.

I find that Novus 2 (fine scratch remover for plastic) works GREAT on scales. Brings them to a high gloass. I use it to keep the windscreen in great (optical) shape on my old Cessna. You can find it at motorcycle shops for fairing windscreens too.
Good stuff! also any one with headlight cleaning polish can use that. A mirror polish like Novus. Been years since I last useed Novus but it was a main stay in the prototype model shops.
Thanks

PS. The wet part of the polishing compound removes and loosens stuck dirt and the polishing starts when the polish gets dry.
IMHO, it all Depends on the scale material and what kind of shape they are in.
I have never had a problem with WD40 on celluloid. If anything, they do shine up nicely.
I bought a couple of Celluloid scaled razors this weekend that I am going to re-scale. I will soak the scales in WD40 and see if it has any long term effect.
