Hi Alex....what a coincidence, I just ordered the ESPE from shavingshop last night! Of course, I have no idea how it shaves, but will let you know once it arrives. I'm having John hone it, so hope it will arrive early next week....
Good Luck!

Again, as a coincidence, I just shaved with my ESPE back from Lynn - all I can say is sweet, very sweet.
I am going to post about it in the newbie section.

Alex,
Glad to hear that Timor Blue Steel is working out for you.
My choice, if I were in your shoes, would be the Henckels Friodur 8/8 (or maybe a 7/8 from John). You've got the lower end covered, so might as well see what the hubbub is all about at the other end. :D
Getting it pre-honed by John, or sending it to Lynn for service will also be a great idea.
yes Chris, its a great shaver! I have been enjoying it alot. As I get better at shaving with it I like it more and more.
I've shaved with the Wacker-ground ESPE for a week now, after having it honed by Lynn. Very good shaver, and I haven't nicked myself with it yet! Having said that, of course....:w
I would have to say go with the Henckels Friodur 8/8 I picked up one from John and it's one of my favorite razors.
The scales on my ESPE are a bit out of whack also. I've not had it honed and was thinking about doing it myself, but after reading here that it is a good shaver, now I don't know. If it is a good blade I don't want to mess it up!!
I am new to this and just got my Henckels Friodur 8/8 back from Lynn and used it yesterday it was great.
I would get the big boy...
