J. Nowill & sons in ivory?

Picked up matched set of J. Nowill & sons. I know nothing about them except they shave well. I'm fairly sure these scales are ivory. They don't have pores like bone, they are slim and almost glass smooth with saw marks an the insides. has sort of a wood grain appearance. tried a pin test it didn't sink but it did leave a small black mark you could wipe off . That is really a fine pair for sure and I would bet my bottom dollar the scales are ivory.
