My first vintage razor
Found it at a local antique store yesterday. Very happy with it. Great condition.. crappy photo :D
So far just hit it with a little metal polish. Needs to be honed still. Any idea on when it would of been made?

There is a grain that runs all the way through the scales. Could they be ivory? They are too smooth IMO.. I'm thinking celluloid.

Very nice razor. I think I have a Joseph Elliot with the same etch.

Assure that your upcoming hone person is well known for good work! You may lose up to about 1/64th to1/32nd inch in width to assure that your edge is in good steel. That said, you have a nice razor and the scales appear to be of a faux ivory / French Ivory. or in other words celluloid. You done good!
Get er honed and enjoy a good razor!

Great looking razor, should shave well after it is honed.

Beautiful find. I love reconditioning vintage.

Nice woosty. Looks like celluloid to me as well. Take a soft rag and rub it, see if you can detect a camphor/pine smell.
