I think the consensus is the old vintage razors are quality pieces but the new ones no.
We have numerous posts discussing this. Check them out for yourself and get a feel for the opinions.
I had seen a few but didn't know if things had changed. I think the newest one I have found was dated to 2012.
I have a Timor Blue Steel 150, also marked Giesen & Forsthoff, Solingen Germany.
I bought this razor new around 1964 and to be honest, I never found it to be a great shaver.
I can still remember the store that I bought it from, there was a wall full of beautiful razors but the Timor was one of the few in my price range. I hang on to it because it's the only new razor I have ever bought.
If only we could go back in time.

I have a new one. It has geometry issues that make it very difficult to sharpen. It shaves ok, just not a good buy. For the same money I could have gotten a Dovo Best Quality and gone without the head ache.
Really? Thank you for the warning. I was going to sign up on another form and ask them but saw some negative reviews of that forum and decided against it. It's sad to hat that about Timor razors. They look pretty good and are reasonably priced.
This one is a sweet shaving machine.

It is not new production.
Bevel is almost invisible. Honed up easy.
Shame I don't care for full hollows.
So, Wullie. Do those full hollows come to a screeching halt on that wire brush beard of yours?? :rofl2:
