Corsan, Denton & Co.
Attachment 154591Attachment 154592Hello again dear purveyors of straight razor knowledge and lore. I come to you again with another unusual relic that I acquired from a gun show. This is a near wedge Corsan, Denton & Co as you can see in the photos and I believe the scales are buffalo horn with original pins. The pivot is a bit loose and there is some rust between the scales. I now know that it was made between 1850-1852. My question is about the etching on the blade. I wonder if this is a 160 year old etching and what that might mean as far as historical value? I dont know when etching became popular or if this might have been done at a much later date. Any help will be welcomed.

I don't know about the etching but has the blade been shortened? It looks out of proportion and brown at the end. Apicture closed would help my thoughts.

32t,
The brown at the end was the color of the kitchen cabinets reflecting. I don't have a good work bench so to the kitchen I go! My wife hates it!
