    Default Genco Heavy

I am a total beginner and just discovered this site and passion for straight razors. I was looking for a possible first SR and found a Genco Heavy. I can't find a lot of info about this razor. I know it is US made and is supposed to be of good quality. I cannot find what type of grind it has. By the reading I have been doing I think what I want is a full hollow grind and can't tell if the Genco Heavy has that. And why do they call it "heavy"?

    Thanks

Genco are great blades, I'm not sure what the heavy means but even if it is not a full hollow I'm sure it is a quality blade. Oh and welcome to SRP. Somebody will come along who probably knows everything about that blade

Genco razors I think are highly under-rated. I have a couple and they are some of my best shavers. They will take a fantastic edge and hold it forever. Heavy might just be the model, but it could also be a heavier grind. Check here for types of grinds. The straight razor - Straight Razor Place Library

Yes, I think it is just a name Genco gave it but was wondering if it had anything to do with the grind.

What part of the blade would be described by their model name "Honor" or "Lincoln"? Its just a model name as far as I can tell. 'Excellent razors.

I'll move this to the 'Razors' forum. You might get a few more replies.

If you can post some pics of the razor it would help .
