Wade & Bros razor? and non Boker bicycle?

While razor hunting yesterday I saw a razor with blade etching of a bicycle rider in a country setting. It wasn't "the bicycle race"; nor was it a Boker but it was made in Germany. I've been trying to look up vintage straight razors with blade etchings online and on SRP but haven't had much luck. Any ideas on the maker?

Also I saw a Sheffield razor with a tang stamp that said Wade & Bros but, haven't been able to turn up any info in that maker. Was wondering if it was Wade & Butcher related. Any info?

Well I didn't take any pictures in the store and I didn't buy the razors so at the moment I am unable to comply. I just thought someone might be aware of a company called Wade & Bros. and maybe someone who was familiar/into blade etchings might have something to say. At the one store the guy usually unlocks the cabinet and stands next to me while I look so I would feel a bit awkward taking a picture. The other store the razors are in a case at the counter so they put them on the counter for me to look at. I would feel less awkward there. I think the Wade & Bros had quite a frown and corresponding spine wear which is why I didn't buy it but it was fairly cheap.

Good thread but I don't believe it was any of those. The rider was going right to left thought like the one with the ducks and dog. I remember for sure that it said made in Germany but didn't have a name on the tang. it did have a mark on the back of the tang though. I should have paid more attention to it. I'm sure there was a reason I didn't buy it. Excessive hone wear, etc. Also the razors there are a bit more expensive about $30 as opposed to around $8 in the other store. I know it doesn't seem like much but I still can't see spending $30 on something I don't want. Especially with the swimbo watching me like a hawk. Every time I buy a razor she asks me if I am going to use it or look at it and I have to explain about sending them out to be honed and someday I hope to hone my own but not right now and how much does it cost? Blah, blah, blah.

I guess I could buy it and put it up on the bay if I didn't want to keep it. I'm sure someone would pay $30 + shipping for it.

There wasn't a Wade & Brothers in Sheffield.

There was a Wade, Wingfield & Rowbotham. I can see how the stamp could be incomplete in a way that it might look like Wade & Bros.

They were not related to the Wade of Wade & Butcher.

The 'safety' bicycle was a huge fad. Safety in this case meant you weren't likely to fracture your skull just getting onto the thing

The advent of the modern-style bike with a chain drive and smaller wheels (around 1890) brought on a new bicycle boom. They were very popular and so they showed up on all kinds of things. I'd expect there were many different bicycle etchings on razors from the era, and the way the German razor industry worked meant there weren't really 'exclusive' designs or etchings. It was surprisingly similar to the current Chinese electronics industry, which makes both the cheapest crap and the priciest luxury goods, sometimes in the same factory. The key difference is that German workers had workshops in their homes and didn't work on a factory floor.

Alright I bought it (cheap) just so no one thinks I' m crazy. I think this razor is relatively new based mainly on the font on the tang stamp. Also I think Sheffield is stamped but Wade & Bros. Is printed somehow. Yes I know it has a frown.

Also, how do you delete pics from the attachment manager. For instance when it rotates some of your pics.
