Bi Yearly maintainance

My dailey drivers consist of 7 Ivory scaled Palmeras.
All razors need to be maintained to a point so I did the deed today as I will again in 6 mos. this will insure that I have 7 perfect shavers at all times.
Pivots are re-peened, blades are centered,Scales are ren-waxed and oiled with mineral oil.
Blades get 5 strokes ea. On a 12K shapton pro,10 Ea. on a crox paddle.Good to go for 6 more mos.
Cannot stress enough the importance of avoiding loose scales,I like mine On the tight side.
Makes for easy stropping,less chance of strop damage and edge damage,Is just my way.
Razors are tools,gotta take care of them.

You're a beast! I've been lazy about doing any re-peening, let alone workshop work.

I've gotta delve into it eventually. But, for now, I could completely do without the scales altogether and be fine, I think,,, shaving wise, that is.

Good idea, Pixel! I keep a 24 razor rotation and use a different one every shave. They get stropped a few times in between shaves to keep the bevels clean, I don't peen til needed. Some never seem to need it. I find with proper stropping, edges last a long time. It is good to look at them in daylight sometimes. Inspect inside scales for lather/crud. If rust is appearing, address that. Everyone has a different environment to store razors, but I have no issues for years after applying Tufglide before first honing. Yeah, a bit on the finisher and some CroOx seems to tune them right up as necessary. None of mine are on the same cycle and some come and go, so I do it on an 'as-needed' basis.

We are Probebly on the same rotation cycle wise as I Only shave twice/week.
Scales made from natural materials move with changes in temp and humidity IME,I just like all to be the same.

To be certain. those sweet Palmeras of yours are all pretty much the same! :D I shave 3-4 times a week.
My shavers go from Torreys in cell, Howcroft in silver, Bengall in bone, Gottlieb and Hammesfahr in pearl, Greaves in horn, I have brass scales, bakelite, g-10, and many other combinations! No way could I ever get them the same! :rofl2: I would be like you in the case of that set, though! Nice and tight, shaving right! :D
