Thread: Qu'est-ce que c'est?

I received the TI 4/8 Le Dandy honed by Lynn today. Which doubles my humble collection . Typical that I only just shaved last night so will have to wait until tomorrow night to try it out.

It's a dinky little thing, but looks like it might be handy with upper lip and chin areas. Certainly feels very different in the hand to my other (Dovo Bismarck 5/8). Anyone else have experience of these?

no experience with those things, but I've had my eye on getting one. Let me know what you think about it (still want to get a theirs-issard). I've tried a genco and a dorko 4/8 and they were ok.

I have a round point almost as small that can easily tackle 2 days of stubble in 2 or 3 passes (depending on the mood) and leave a BBS finish.

I have an EKS Gold Krone which is a 4/8s and it is one of my best shavers. I also have a 2/8s mercur but don't use it. Its just too small I have trouble just holding it. I think its really designed to be used as a trim razor. It would be great for the upper lip unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you see it I have a full moustache.

Well, the shave was excellent. It might be small, but on my (admittedly soft) beard, it was just as good as the Dovo 5/8 Bismarck. For those with shaky hands, this might be an excellent choice -- it's noticeably lighter in weight and I was a lot more steady as a result. Definitely BBS and zero razor burn. In summary, it's a great little performer.

This was honed by Lynn and now I know I'm only getting 80% sharpness on my own. As a gold standard it sure is unforgiving... I nicked myself under the chin when I lost concentration (probably lost in wonder at the sharpness of it). Worst nick yet! But boy is it sharp. I've got to get back to the Norton and coticule with my Bismarck now I know what sharp should be like.
