I need help. I want to buy a straight razor that was produced in Ohio. The only ones I know of are Clauss and the ones on the bay are all in terrible shape. Any other brands from Ohio that I could look for?

I'll ask a friend or two and see if they know of any others.

Fremont Ohio was once the cutlery capital of the world. I have a Croghan, Hollinger and a Ohio cutlery razor. the first 2 are from Fremont and the Ohio cutlery doesn't say what city. i'm sure there are others since there was something like 40 different company's at one time.
Thanks guys. I was born and raised there so I have wanted to get something from there.
tintin I had know idea! That is pretty cool.
Novelty Cutlery Co. from Canton, Ohio made some nice razors.
While its not produced in Ohio it came from ohio. I currently have this one and I'm looking to unload it.

Had one marked as a Cabsco Allen Canton OH Barbers Supply, unfortunately it was passed along. They used to do a lot of forging in Canton ..
Whereabouts in Ohio are you from?
I have this Lecran from Toledo in my collection still.
One of my first straights, still a very good shaver with funky, presumably original scales..

Cheers.
I was born and raised in Hilliard. It's just south of Dublin. That's a good looking razor!
I don't play much at EBay but my friend tells me this:
"Hi Roy, I did find the thread and there definitely more then Clauss, best bet is to do a search on ebay, for “Ohio razor” and use the “Saved Search” feature, and saved the search, using that feature you will get an e-mail daily of razors available, that’s the way to find them on there. But you need to be patient"!
I hope this is of some help in your quest. Good Hunting :tu
