Thinking about getting this razor. Should I get it rescaled?

Advertised as a 1600s sailor's knife, but I think it looks like an early modern straight razor. Comes from a reputable antiquities dealer. I'm going to get it, but should I also get it rescaled? I was thinking about something like Bog Oak. If yes, then I'll buy it and have it sent to the rescaler's address who can then send it to me.

It will look good next to my 6th century BC Roman razor, 15th century iron razor, and very early 1800s with no tail :D

Tell him you want it mirror polished and with some bog oak scales dyed lime green, at least two logos of English rock and roll bands from the 70's, and a set of red LED tail lights (thanks ZAK for the tail light idea).:rofl2:

Maybe. And who wants a french point that aggressive? I'd much rather have a nice round point.
I don't really like the grind either, looks more like a knife than a razor. Maybe he could weld a spine on to it, and make it into a frameback?
I think the edge needs to be bread-knifed as well.

It looks like a a vintage blade off a Briggs & Stratton,,,,,,,,, :shrug:
