This thread will give you a good idea of many of the fine US made razors that you can choose from.
Enjoy!
J.R. Torrey, H.M. Christensen, Geneva Cutlery/Genco (I love my Easy Aces) just to name a few. As stated by Glen can't say enough about German steel or the smoothness of the Sheffield razors, but there is just something about a razor Made in the USA.....may have something to due with quality?
Gotta love those Hart razors...and of course the vintage USA blades
checkout the new Portland Razor Company. Making S.R. in Portland Oregon
Are you looking for new or a vintage that you can get shave ready and keep it's character or fully restore? DoughBoy mentioned the Genco, I have a Seneca Chief and another that just arrived today.. a Master Barber. Also own a Spike which is a real good one if you can get your hands on one. If I went new that Portland Razor Co. that was just pointed out looks promising too.
I have purchased two new razors and I have my grandfathers Winova( which I am hoping to send to Lynn to breath life again) but I want something that is a times less classic old school and very cool. New stuff is nice but old has my heart. I am also trying to learn about Japanese blades as well but that is another topic all to it's self. Thanks for all of the leads guys it is very helpful.
Oh and as for the other two I just got I am breaking out all of my old metal refinishing gear to see if I still remember how to take care of rust and metal.
Hart is a great razor if you get a good one. Lately it seems there have been some issues and customer service remedies appear to be inconsistent.
+1 on that one. I recvd a 7/8 that clearly should have never left the factory. They did replace it however but it makes you wonder about the techs making them Some may not have good ethics or they would never have tried to slide this one off. It was pretty poorly made
Read through this thread. Lots of American things! http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...llow-conn.html
