Does anyone know whether they are any good? I may have an option of purchasing one and would like to know whether they are any good and how much are they worth in this shape (what's a descent price).

I haven't had a bad Puma yet out of 6-7. No idea about this one but I will assume it will be a great shaver.
Price - that's a little harder. It may fetch quite a bit on ebay, or it may go under the radar. If you get it under 60 and spend a few more bucks to have it cleaned and honed here by one of the meisters I'd say you'll get a great shaver at a very reasonable price. But don't take my opinions too seriously. Myself - I would not give even 50 for this one as I have too many razors as it is, and several better Pumas. As well as a bunch of razors, which need restoration work. This may not be your case - if you have no other Pumas, and / or are in the process of building a nice "tribe" of razors (forgot who used this recently but I liked the idea)
Cheers

If I hadn't seen the brand, I wouldn't go over 15 on this one, but Pumas command pretty high prices. I can't see them being THAT much above the crowd, but they're definitely the target of a big feeding frensy.
The razor looks like it will take a little work to clean up. Puma's are consistently an awesome shaver.

The blade is actually in pretty decent shape and wouldn't take too much to bring it back to near-new condition. Pumas are as good as it gets for that type of grind and steel and if you can get that razor for $30.00, it would be a steal. For 40, it would be a good deal. For 50.... take it or leave it. That's my take on it. It would command probably $60 to $70 on the Ebay market and 80 or 90 if cleaned up nicely.
That's my take on it, anyway, for what it's worth.
I have three Pumas and they are all exceptional shavers. I have never seen any puma in decent shape go for less then $150. The one you have there will need some work. Maybe some corrosion on the spine but it ain't bad. If you can get it for less than $75 I would go for it.
Thanks for the info guys, unfortunately it sounds as though this one will end up being way out of my price range (I have a very limited budget).
I do find it interesting that no-one here has a #223 though.
If ytou are interested keep an eye on it. I have 2 Pumas both great razors. I got one for $40 the other was a gift.
