Restored John Elliot
Hello Gents!
I wanted to share my restored John Elliot's Best Silver Steel. Shon at Iron Town Razorworks restored it for me and it is awesome! I got it off of the bay a couple of weeks ago. Here are some before and after pics. Shon felt that the blade had never been honed before. I real find, and defiantly the flagship of my growing collection. I can't wait to see how she shaves.

I like the scalloped spine and the cool eagle etching. Nice clean restore. Funny, I knew Joseph Elliot, but I hadn't heard of John. Wonder if they were family, or if Elliot was a more common name ?

Me either, Jimmy. I miss Neil at times like these....Gotta get with him.
I have always loved that eagle etch. Tough-looking! Nice one!

Here is the only history I have been able to find:
John Elliot
Razor manufacturer, 35 Townhead street; house: 8 St George's terrace
From Whites Directory of Sheffield 1852
I have read some other posts on here discussing John Elliot's being made around 1840's-1850's and then he working or merging with Joseph Elliot due to being possible relatives.
Anyone have more details?
