After seeing Lynn's DVD and heard how much he love these razors, I come to wonder, how are they?
Is it worth put some $ and get them from E-Bay if I can get some nice ones for a nice price in a mint condition?

All the Henckels that have used have been phenomenal shavers and are my favorate brand. I currently own three twin razors that JohnP. generously sold me (he gave me my first one for free) and 1 8/8 Friodur that I got from izlat. They do have VERY strong steel so it takes more passes in the polishing stages of honing, but it is well worth the effort.

Most are carbon steel ;however, much like with Thiers-Issard the temper of the steel is very strong due to the forging process. The Friodur razors are stainless steel.
I did not see the second part of your question. It will take more passes on the 4K to initially set the bevel (if this is necessary) and more passes on both the 8K and yellow coticule to polish the edge.
Mmmmm, an 8/8 Friodor. I want one of those pretty badly my self.

It is definately my nicest razor at this point. The razor has a worked back and custom removable giraffe bone scales mady by Robert Williams.Quote:

Yeah, I want one of the spanish point Friodurs that John Crowley has. So beautiful, I wish he had them with some nice custom scales though.

So buy one and send it out to Robert Williams. He's the one who did the oryx scales on my two Friodurs.
Actually, after posting I found a place to order exotics. I ordered enough White Black Ebony and Olive Wood to do several sets. As soon as I have the cash I will be ordering one from the shavingshop.com and rescaling it. Should be a good project for me.
