Actually the Nazi Swastika was the reversed version. The others were around long before.
It's used frequently in Native American practice.

They go in both directions... one is considered "right facing" and the other "left facing."
As far as I know, there isn't any real difference in the right or left facing versions in Japan... although left facing seem more common. The Nazi version would be considered a "right facing."
