The more i tiptoe around the forum and the net, looking & learning, i'm finding that i want more razors.
I only have two for now, so i personally cannot judge at this moment in time. (don't get me wrong this is not to stop people buying a ton of razors)
No instead this is geared to all you, time served razor pros,who have put time, money, and effort in to this lifestyle.
I would love to know,if you could only keep one razor what would be.....your "one & only".
That would honestly be impossible for me to say. :shrug:
I'm human, I'm fickle, I'm bored easily. If I can't practice polygamy, I can practice razorgamy. My "harem" has many delightful "ladies" and it is pleasant agony each morning deciding which one will grace my face that day.:banghead:
Gonna need about twenty to thirty years worth of shaving with the 50-60
at the moment to decide on "THE ONE". There are a few here that have just a couple. I think.
i think the "ONE" would be my Greaves 7/8 FBU half hollow .. followed by a Packwood 6/8 , those 2 just except and hold a wicked edge from the way i hone and provide the best feel in the hand and most comfortable shave for me
ive had 40-60 razors most of the time and realistically probably only use 3-4 on a regular basis
If I could only keep one it would have to be my Am. Gilchrist. Heavy blade, great shaver.
I can tell this is gonna be a hard one to choose.
So then tell us your top three.
That's easy, every "one" of my razors.....I like em all...:D
If I was forced to make a choice, hands down would be my 9/8 Wade and Butcher, Celebrated Hollow Ground, For Barbers Use spike point....nothing but bliss everytime I use it.

#2 - W&B 9/8 Chopper with the thumb notch and spike point.
#3 - GB 9/8 Iron Cross - something mystical about shaving with that one...

thats just for shaving , i have different order for like of the looks ..lol.. it is never ending search you seek , maybe thats why we all either stick with the ones we like or buy buy buy buy more more more more !!!! in search of a new favorite !!

I like a variety, so just one won't do. Literally in my rotation I have from 4/8 to 9/8 razors, wedges, super hollows, spike & round points, customs, and razors from all over the world. They are all honed on different stones too, so that each shave is totally unique. WHy would someone want "just one"?
If you are asking which razors is the "best", that is subjective too as you get the personality of the stones the razor visited more than anything. There are better razors for different styles of "likes" when it comes to shaving. Do you like a butter smooth shave that a coticule finished razor can give? Do you like a freakishly sharp/crisp edge?

If thats what I am forced to do my decision would be a harder metal.stiffer and holds and edge longer. its between a 6/8th Boker Silversteel, and a TI with bone scales. Breaks my heart not to bring a Dubl Duck 6/8ths as my main blade

My Robert Williams 7/8 half hollow.
I have 14 razors I use regularly. I have often thought of going down to just a couple but I could never part with them. I would have to replace any I sell with the same razor.
Hart, revisor, TI, Joseph Rodgers. No wait revisor wade and butcher Aust...

I own 1 western razor & 2 kamisori. I mostly use my Iwasaki kamisori.
Ahh yes, the Machinist Tool Box....the object that inspired me greatly, I have a version of this chest from Windsor Designs sitting in the basement, and it is perfect for razor storage...so I agree, I'll limit it to one BOX as well...Quote:
