Love them Puma/ducks. Here are three. One is probably a rescale with Solingen inlaid rather than the Puma emblem. On the black scaled one the blade is long for the scales and I've heard that some of those were that way. Is your blade long relative to the scales Glen ?

anyone know the number of different product DD make? i've seen alot of different stuff (razors, blades, scissors, nail clippers, strops, strop conditioning paste, hair dryers, combs, brushes, massagers and pocket knifes
) anyone know of anything else?
I seem to remember a post about two years ago stating that some of the name changes were because of a change in ownership of the DD brand. The poster said, for instance, that the company name changed to "PearlDuck" when it was purchased by a man named Pearl.
Can anyone recall that post?
The original outfit was Bresnick owned by Charles Bresnick who later renamed the company Bresduck and later on after WWll Mr. Pearlson bought the outfit and renamed it Pearlduck. They still exist in name only selling dog grooming supplies somewhere North of NYC. They were originally in Lower Manhattan and moved to Jamaica Queens and later to Garden City Long Island and eventually to their present location.
They were a Barber supply outfit and sold everything related to barbering though I don't think they sold the big stuff like chairs and furniture.
They sold many Razors before and during the time they had their own and the Puma-Ducks are about the best example. They are marked with their logo because they retailed them but they are plain jane Puma Razors.
I have a question, did all these different brands have there own foundry,or did they all come from just a few, that would make these Puma-ducks,
and all other good Solingen brands that look like them easier to understand,as many of these blades look just like each other,C-Mons look like Bartmans, and the like, could they all be coming from the same foundries?
The big mystery no one has the answer to relating to DD is who made them. The odd ones like the puma ducks we know were made by Puma but they aren't really ducks. There are also some French Ducks which are the same deal as the Pumas. Also later on Beau Brummel had a deal with them and they became sole distributer of those razors and their Jamaica N.Y address is on the razor. So who knows. Maybe Puma made them, maybe Beau Brummel made them, maybe the French outfit made them. Maybe a whole bunch of people made them. Your guess is as good as mine.
I read this thread the other day and can't find any other references to wonder wedge except for a couple of threads on this site by newbie's (at the time) that might have been typos or mistakes. No one corrected this. Can anyone confirm or dispute that these models exist? Also are there any other DD wedge variations? Special wedge I think I've heard of, how about stylewedge?
No such thing as a Wonder Wedge. Satin Wedge yes. They actually made quite a few wedges. At least 3 or 4 that I'm aware of.
