This is a very heavy duty blade for it's size of 9/16 X 3" . I believe it was a 5/8" before years of use.

I can not help on the razor. I just wanted to you it's a beauty!!
Walter, Thank you. This is one of my favorite St8's. I have been really lucky in my local area finding good razors at great prices. It's interesting finding a St8 that looks like a thorn & turning it into a rose. This spring I hope to get my shop set up in the garage. I need to find a small band saw & a few other tools to start making scales. I also am looking for a low speed 8" bench grinder. I also have some slate window sills I need to get cut up. This slate makes a great fine hone & I have enough to make several hones.
Where is Petersburg IN? I have family in Petersburg IL.

Dave, it is said on another thread that "Brandonia cutlery co" was in business from 1900 to 1930, looking at the blade and scales and shape the dating seems right to me. The lack of information about this manufacturer doesnt mean its not a quality piece, im sure its high quality razor, and more then likely made from Sheffield steel(other Brandonia razor have a sheffield Steel stamp).
