very unique & cool
I have not seen that model. Should be interesting to shave with. Please let us know how it goes.
An attempt to make a DE seem like a Kamisori.
May not be a Shaving Razor.may be for doing razor cuts on hair. just a thought.
Cool! I had seen that! Thank you for buying it so I could not. A DE-on-a-stick. JUST what I needed! :D
Interesting. A shave report would be good to hear!
Thats awesome!
I have a DE stropping tool called Wizard that if you didnt know what it was specifically for you would think it was to shave using DE blades but it is to actually strop them.
It is obvious from the construction of this that it is clearly made to shave with. Is this something that is currently manufactured and available for purchase or is it vintage?
I am waiting for it to come in the mail. The guy I bought it from sells old Japanese razors, culinary knives wet stones, ect. I tried to do some research for the razor company but no luck on that. When I do get it in and shave with it I'll definitely let everybody know review on it
For sure it not a razor for shaving. It is for hair trimming. Another name for it - styling razor.
Back in the day,1960s (When I had hair) I would always get a razor cut, barber used a regular comb and a tool like that to do it.
Hope it works out for you
You might be right but all the styling razors I looked up all had teeth on them.
I am not so certain it is a styling razor. All styling razors I have seen hold the blade straight and have a comb like guard. Even if they dont have the comb like guard the blade is always held in place straight. This has the obvious bend like the head of a DE razor would.
I am in no way certain either way but the things I just mentioned make me question that it is a styling razor.
I've seen other "whole blade" shavettes but never a "DE on a Stick" as Sharpton so elegantly calls it.
Can't wait to here more.
Thank you for sharing
Well, that does look interesting.
Styling razor or not It looks like you could shave with it. Let us know how it turns out. I am very curious.
Once you have it in hand and try a down pass on the cheek you'll know right quick if it is going to work as a shaver. Interesting though, never saw the like. :gl:
The guard bar suggests it's a razor - there would be no need for them on a hair shaper. It's also designed to be used both sides.
I almost ordered one but decided not to. The price was right but my collection is getting out of hand.
There is a thread about a very similar razor, style wise. that was a razor used by Italian barbers. I think it was called a duane or something similar.
