Looking for a new razor
Ok. I have a dovo 5/8 razor now. I love it. Works great. I want to buy a second razor. I want to step up to 6/8 or 7/8. Is there a reason that I shouldn't just go for the 7/8? Also. Any suggestions or preferences that some of you have on what to buy. Just curious. I'm thinking about Tha ralf aust 7/8 with either the French point or the Spanish point from SRD. A little pricy but I like the looks of it. What do you's think?

The jump to 5/8 to 7/8 will look big when the razor arrives in the mail...but there is not any harm in doing so and skipping 6/8. Most of my razors are in the 5/8 or 7/8 buckets...with a couple of 6/8 sprinkled in there. I like all of them for their particular merits...you might find doing parts of the mustache area a little challenging at first with the 7/8, but other than that it is really not a big deal at all. Personally I also like stropping the 7/8 blades I own better than my 5/8 or 6/8....just a thing for me I guess.
Also no matter what you decide to do size-wise, you aren't going to go wrong with an Aust. Top-tier quality and a pretty decent value for what you get versus some other manufacturers!.

I prefer 6/8 or larger over 5/8 but that is personal opinion. The Ralf Aust should suit you well. I have an Aust 5/8 and it shaves very well. Good luck in your decision

7/8 Aust Spanish Point from SRD is a nice razor. I was intimidated by the size for the first couple shaves but the first and second shaves went so well I got over it quickly. I had previously used several 6/8 and 5/8.
Revisor has some nice 6/8 and 8/8
