    Default Ideal Straight Razor

I just bought a straight razor from a garage sale. It seems to be in pretty good condition. The brand is "Ideal". Says is was made in Germany. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this brand? If it makes a good blade? Thanks!

I havent heard of it butt that means nothing- there are so many fantastic straights out there and German made works in its favor without even seeing a pic yet!

There is a list of razors in the library. Large list on the planet :<0) If it isn't there you will have to wait for a razor history major to come by.

Can't tell you who made your razor. You may find who the "Ideal" was a trade mark of by looking here Razor makers . Looks to be in nice condition. Just a word of caution, do not polish the gold on the blade with anything it will be removed. Can't see why it can't be honed up and put to good use. Like others have said it likely is good quality being made in Germany. Nice find.

I like the way they did the jimps on it. Sorry, never heard of the brand, but it looks to be a decent razor nonetheless.
