There was the Premier company that did a bunch of branded import stuff too, and they were out of Toronto, and they did make knives for a while, but I think all of their razors and barber hones were imported, mostly from the US I think. The only Premier razor I have seen was junk and I did not retain it, I just kept the barbers hone.
Yes, the Premier Company was based out of TO and also I think the operated in the US also. I don't think they made anything but were importers. I have a Premier meat cutting knife that says " Hand Ground Solingen Germany" on it and two straights of which one was made in Germany and the other in England. Neither are junk and both shave as well as any other quality razor I own. IIRC Crappy Tire carried Premier knives for a while.

Yes, I thought that is what you meant by junk as in junk condition which mine were not. I meant in good condition, non junk, that they shave as well as any thing else. Neither the razors or the knife have TO stamped on them anywhere. My assumption, and that could easily be wrong, was that they were imported by Premier in TO as all were found in Canada.

Taylor Bros Cutlery Co of Hamilton Canada, 1885-1922, made razors in Canada.

Thank you much for that post Martin. Now that I know some were made here I am sure a few of us will be hunting them down now.
