You cannot go wrong with the Ralf Aust round point 5/8 for $103...............easily one of my best razors and the cheapest to boot.

I think a few others recommended this exact razor as well and for great reason.

Yeah, you don't want to jump straight to a square point or even a Spanish point because they will bite ya! As I previously mentioned & many other agree, a French point or muted point would be your best option to start out with. Once you have been straight shaving for awhile, then you can try one of the others & see how they work for you! Good luck!

jwy77 , That is good. When I first became involved in straight razor's, I ordered Lynn's dvd & it has helped me quite a bit including using a Dremel the correct way. If you don't use a Dremel the correct way, bad things will happen & in most cases, you can easily ruin a blade with one if you do not know what you are doing do I advise others to get the dvd because it is very informative. Thanks for the above post & also about the dvd.
