Gentlemen,
Now that I have my first straight razors (a Ralf Aust and a Boker) on the way, in the "mail", my interest has been piqued as to what the oldest straight razor manufacturers are still in existence. I searched the forum and didn't see anything as a stand alone topic/thread.
So, therein lies the question: what are the oldest straight razor manufacturers, still in existence, making razors? What year were they founded are they still making blades?

I believe someone mentioned in another thread that that would be Henckels
I didn't know Henckels was still making razors. I know there making knives for the kitchen or at least I think they are. I would have thought as far as razors go it would be either dovo or boker. Now I haven't looked it up (I'm too lazy for that) but i'm just guessing.

Great answers but I guess I wasn't specific enough and that is my fault. Sorry.
What I would like to know is this - is there a ready source to find out, for example, how long Dovo (1906) has been making straight razors? Boker (1869)? Thiers-Issard (1884)? Esbjerg? Etc. I am interested to know the history of straight razors and the companies that still make them. Coming from the mechanical watch world, there are companies, like Breitling, who claim to have been making mechanical timepieces since 1884, Tag Heuer since 1860, etc.
I'd reckon it'd be Henckels.
