Hi all can anybody tell me if George butler vintage razors are any good?
The one I had was an excellent shaver unfortunately I discovered a crack in the blade so it is now retired.Quote:

I have a George Butler "Art" and it is a fine shaver and a good example of classic Sheffield style....fairly plain, but highly functional!
Should be good. Is it one of two that are on eBay? If so look closely. I think one has a Nick center of blade that may lead to a crack

Thats the razor its my first and its not quite shave ready which is anoying as it said it would be. I have also tryed to date this but it dosnt have the ART stamp on it so Iam not sure.
Looks like a good un. Early - mid 19oo's at a guess ?
I think the art sign was added in 1860's so I was thonking earlyer than that but not sure.Quote:
