Here's one I just completed - 13/16" blade, solid ivory scales, mirror polished high carbon steel.

It ain't different.. It's still a work of art :tu
That one's neat as a pin. I like the sorta frameback grind. I don't know how to do that one, and as such, I'm very impressed.
that's almost too purty to shave with!:nj
Wow! that's gorgeous!
Nice work!
But something to be used on the face that incorporates what appears to be a "blood grove" makes me a mite nervous ;)
To me that looks like the best shaver I've ever seen. Note the grind and the length of the shank and the tail! Wow. And carbon too! I'm wondering what it costs to get one . . .
GORGEOUS! :y

Thanks, guys. This was an interesting project and required a good bit of planning and effort but I really liked the way the blade finished up.
great work Robert!!!
I also like the ridge you gound into it. And the pins are neat...did you have to fabricate them yourself? amazing.
The pins are allen screws - you can disassemble it with an allen wrench for cleaning, and adjust the tension w/out taking to it with a hammer. It's a great feature.
Wow Robert, that is a real work of art,I like this one the best of all those you've made, but as you know I really prefer the old time hand forged stuff,as you know most people dont realize how much time and highly skilled workmanship goes into someting like this. The forging alone is a lifelong skill to develop(as Im sure you know fullwell) Im really impressed by this piece.I am interested to know how much time you have in this, if you want to tell us
Best Regards Gary
I don't think about the time involvement too much or I'd get pretty depressed, I think, LOL. My best guess is between 15 and 20 hours, Gary. There are an awful lot of steps involved and some of those steps are quite iterative.
I like it. It's got a really sweet Monkey Tail. Now add a barber notch, and it will be the sexiest razor around.
Again, very good work. :bow
