Brass and hobby stores are usually your best bet. Being in the DFW area you should try to get together with some of our members in that area.
you can also get it in jewelry supply shops. It is either brass or nickel silver. 1/16" is the stuff you are looking for.
You can Google where to purchase. That way you can have it shipped to you.
Well, if the pin stock is 1/16", then any welding supply will have it in silicone bronze brazing rod, easy stuff to work with, I cast quite a bit of it into belt buckles, knife bolsters, etc.
Most any Jewelers supply will have assorted sizes of pinstock, in whatever precious or semi, brass, nickle silver, silver or gold.
RioGrande is one that is or was good to deal with.
I tried a screw and nut that came with the same set up as pinning. Works great and you can take it off with no problem. It comes with a little tool to tighten the nut. Got it either from Amazon or ebay.
