Dunno, never used one but they sure have a fancy expensive sounding name. Mind you, for the price what have you got to loose? If you don't like it just pitch it.

After I made this post I found an old Gillette A1 going for cheaper than the Scotch & Stowe so I started watching that.
If you are looking for a vintage Gillette DE then local yard sales might be worth checking.

But, you do need to ask for old razors at the garage sales, most folks don't put them out. Best are the yard sales with an old geezer sitting at the back just kinda bein' there. Ask him!! I found some really good shave stuff that way!Quote:

I actually just got a 1951-1960 Gillette red tip for $27 off eBay today, don't know the exact year yet but I will when it gets here. So I'm holding off on the off on the Scotch & Stowe. And the next DE is going be a Merkur Futur, so I don't use my inherited 1958 Gillette D-3 executive too much.
