Razor Restoration Opinions?
Gentlemen, Roughly one year ago I entered the world of Straight Razor Shaving, and have never looked back. I started with a brandless Shavette, and soon upgraded to a Kropp razor I acquired from one Cory Schmidt via the Classifieds. Here are the best photos I have of that razor.

Unfortunately, what started as a minor crack in the plastic scales resulted in the ends breaking off above the pivot point, risking the blade coming loose.
So, I acquired some coconut-wood scales online, and sent them in to SRD's restoration and sharpening service with my razor, where they were returned to me unchanged because the shop was closed. No problem, the razor still worked well enough so long as I was careful. (A dangerous game to play, but so is using a straight at all, by some perspectives.)
At last, I found a friend, a Jeweler by trade, and asked if he could take a look at my predicament. I dropped off the razor and scales in the morning and got it back that night. Here are the results.
I was expecting stainless steel or something like... but NOPE. My Jeweler buddy? He saw fit to use STERLING FREAKING SILVER. Rivets, caps, spacer... All Sterling.
It shaves beautifully, and the heavier weight from the wood scales is awesome.
Opinions?
EDIT: Another question: My camera can't pick it up, but there's some faint text stamped in the spine of the blade: "Whiteaway (unknown gibberish)". Any idea what that's about?
