Has anyone got the faintest who the manufacturer of this 5/8 full hollow Spanish point might be?
Another member (johnmrson) passed it to me as a possible fit for some scales I'd made - these are not the scales, this is just an old set I put the blade in for honing. Neither of us have got a clue as to its origin.

No idea Mal, but looks like a little beauty.
I'm still trying to set a bevel on it. The steel's as hard as hell and the edge had been flattened out severely.
I've heard back from the biggest ebay seller of Japanese razors and he can't help. So I think we're left with Eastern Europe as a likely origin - not Russia as the marks are in Roman letters rather than Cyrillic. It can't be Sheffield or Solingen for obvious reasons and the USA or France seem unlikely.
The razor is now honed and awaiting the first shave - that'll be Monday.
Sweden? It is not that old seeing as the hole is drilled and not punched. I am intrigued.
Good suggestion about Sweden, although their manufacturers, like those of Sheffield and Solingen, were usually proud to have their city's name on the product, i.e. Eskilstuna. Do you know if Swedish razors were made at other locations as well? I also picked up on the neatly drilled hole as a possible modern indicator but wasn't completely sure about that.

The Swedish angle seems like at least a possibility: I entertained the idea that the SS in the logo could have stood for words like "stål" and "Sverige".
