Custom Ivory with Abalone inlays

Here's the finished razor for Taz. It was in the shop quite some time but it's finally done. The handle and wedge is solid ivory with matching abalone inlays on each side. The blade has 3 abalone diamonds inlaid into each side and a disc of abalone in the tang next to the maker's mark. The spine is a hammered and the box is made of Indian Rosewood.

I can see just by looking at in the photos its got all kinds of imperfections and that ivory is definitely plastic. Spare yourself the pain and have him just send it to me.

Thanks for all the wonderful remarks about this razor.

Eric, I had to do matching inlays on both sides because the Paua Abalone is not thick enough for a complete single inset going through both sides.

Taz, promise that you won't shave with this masterpiece! If you don't promise, I have PapaBull's solemn pledge that he will send it to me!!! :roflmao:roflmao:roflmao

I'm not so sure about that........The attached is a beautiful Maestro with MOP handle and with 7 MOP inlays into the blade and 7 more into the spine. I'd say we could end the debate, but I would like to see it go on for awhile longer so that we can enjoy more beautiful blades from both gentlemen.
