All sizes were once "en vogue". As you can see the current trend is 5/8 and up as the standard(s) for now. In many shaver's eyes the bigger the better and many prefer the 7/8, 8/8 and 9/8 sizes. Extra trips to the gym might be needed to heft hose while shaving.
I sport a mustache and goatee and find, for special occasions, my 3/8 razors are handy for fine tuning around the growth. They are fussy to hone and many honers will not do them.
Smaller size razors have been popular with hairdressers as well.
I have never bought a 3/8, but a lot of the wedge razors that I have from the early to mid 1900s are 4/8 and they are nice and maneuverable.
